Dunkirk is a 2017 war film written, directed and co-produced by Christopher Nolan that’s portrays the Dunkirk evacuation of World War II. It stars Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Barry Keoghan, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Tom Hardy.

This film is has to be one of the best war films since Saving Private Ryan and 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge in my opinion. It is well directed, well written and well acted. Every single actor does an excellent job at the portyal of their characters. Even though this is Harry Styles’ first acting role, he showed an outstanding performance, one that I was not expecting from a “pop star,” but he proved that he can sing and act extremely well. He is an overall very talented guy.  He should keep acting if I were him.

Everyone else did fine, I just wish that Cillian Murphy would have had more dialogue and Tom Hardy wouldn’t have been in the air for most of the film. The cinematography of this film was absolutely magnificent and everything else from the scenery, to the music, to the costumes and the brutality were done outstandingly and so realistically, that it was altogether captivating and if you look away for even two seconds, you’ll miss something very important and very interesting. This is Christopher Nolan’s best work and it is a masterpiece and definitely worthy of any best picture and best cinematography awards. This movie is stunning, shocking, eye-opening and overall wonderful. 13+ 5/5
